An Outpouring of Generosity for Victims of Deadly Illinois Tornados

-By Warner Todd Huston

In the aftermath of last night’s deadly tornados that killed two as they ripped through northeastern Illinois, citizens are pouring aid in money, food, and water into the area to help those devastated by the onslaught.

Two elderly women Jacklyn Klosa, 69, and Geraldine Schultz, 67, were killed as the tornadoes ripped through Fairdale, Illinois 80 miles west of Chicago near the state’s third largest city, Rockford. The tornado featured winds at 200-milers-per-hour, was a half-mile wide and rated in at an EF4 on the strength scale.

Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner declared both Ogle and DeKalb counties as disaster areas and said that the state was “blessed” not to have more people killed.

The city of Fairdale was practically destroyed buty Rochelle was also hard hit.

The tornados hit late Thursday evening, but on the morning after the disaster thousands of Illinois residents got in their cars and made their way to the devastated area to help those in distress.

They brought food, water, blankets and their hard working two hands to help with the recovery.

But if you want to help, too, there is a place set up to take donations.

You can send checks made out to the Fairdale relief fund to:

Alpine Bank
PO Box 6086
Rockford Il

At this point it is probably a better idea to send money instead of trying to visit the area as the locals begin to recover.

Conservative PAC Formed in IL-18 Special: ‘We Have Had Enough of The Political Ruling Class’

NORMAL, IL: Conservatives in Illinois’ 18th congressional district are fighting back the political establishment, and its candidate, Obama Secretary Ray LaHood’s son Darin, by promising to produce a conservative alternative for the GOP primary.

Schock, who resigned on Tuesday, will likely be replaced in congress by the Republican who wins the special election primary, tentatively set for June 8 2015.

“We’re forming an organization of donors, business leaders, and citizens that are concerned that our government is out of control,” said McLean County elected board member Mark Johnson. “Today we filed paperwork with the FEC and begin our fight.”

Johnson will lead The Grassroots Speak PAC, joined by Ken Wilber of Wilber and Associates PC, Chris Gramm of Stivers and Gramm LLC, and Ian Bayne, a talk show host on Bloomington’s Cities 92.9 FM talk station.

“We need a candidate who wants to take on Washington, not be Washington,” said Gramm, who has been active in Republican politics in Bloomington and will work closely with Wilber, who will serve as the informal finance director.

“We need fighters who represent us against the excess of government,” added Bayne. “Our freedom is shrinking, our wages are shrinking, our businesses are shrinking, and our government keeps getting bigger. We have had enough of the political ruling class.” Bayne, who has been hosting the morning program on Limbaugh affiliate Cities 92.9, is also a small business owner in real estate valuations.

Candidates for Woman on the $20 Bill Features Man hater, Mass Murderer and Advocate for Genocide of Blacks

-By Warner Todd Huston

There is a new campaign afoot that is tickling the interests of the mainstream media. It is an effort to kick President Andrew Jackson off the $20 bill and replace him with a woman. Sadly at least three of the candidates do not belong on the list. One is a famous hater of men, another can only be termed a mass murderer, and the third was an important supporter of the genocide of African Americans. How is it these three women deserve to be celebrated on the $20 bill is anyone’s guess.

The campaign called Women On The 20, is, the group says on its website, is an effort to “compel historic change by convincing President Obama that NOW is the time to put a woman’s face on our paper currency.”

The group hopes to have the change on the money made by the year 2020, which happens to be the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, the one that gave women the right to vote.

One of the ways that proponents of the new face on the 20 hopes to achieve their goal is to have Americans sign a petition that would “force” Obama to take notice and make a decision on the proposal.

The group has also proffered a list of 15 candidates from which website visitors may chose their top three. The list of candidates, though is in many cases little else but a cavalcade of leftists some of whom celebrated things that should disqualify them as the sort of Americans whom people should respect.

Here is the full list:

  • Alice Paul (1885-1977): Woman’s suffragette
  • Betty Friedan (1921-2006): Radical feminist
  • Shirley Chisholm (1924-2005): Politician
  • Sojourner Truth (1797-1883): Former slave and abolitionist
  • Rachel Carson (1907-1964): Environmentalist
  • Rosa Parks (1913-2005): Civil rights activist
  • Barbara Jordan (1936-1996): Politician
  • Margaret Sanger (1879-1966): Eugenecist
  • Patsy Mink (1927-2002): Politician
  • Clara Barton (1821-1912): Founder of the American Cross
  • Harriet Tubman (1822-1913): Former slave and abolitionist
  • Frances Perkins (1880-1965): FDR’s Labor Secretary
  • Susan B. Anthony (1820-1906): Abolitionist and women’s sufferage leader
  • Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962): First Lady and human rights activist
  • Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815)-1902): Women’s rights leader

Now, most of these candidates are personages worthy of being included in a list of candidates for famous American women. But three of the candidates are not famous, but are infamous and do not belong on this list of worthies.

Namely, Betty Friedan, Margaret Sanger, and Rachel Carson.

Rachel Carson is famed as the author of the thinly researched and now thoroughly debunked envirowacko book Silent Spring. Carson’s faux “work” led to the banning of the insecticide DDT. Carson claimed it was a carcinogen and an environmentally disastrous. The the facts are that DDT helped kill mosquitos and save the lives of billions who otherwise would have died from malaria. Since its banning tens of millions have kept dying, most of them in underdeveloped nations. Rachel Carson is guilty of mass murder for her lies.

Next up is the unworthy Margaret Sanger. She is famed for coining the term “birth control” and is an icon for lovers of infanticide everywhere. But one of the dirty little secrets that the pro-abortion lobby refuses to accept is the fact that she worked in her chose field of eugenics in order to cleanse America of the black race. Sanger was little else but an advocate of the genocide of blacks in America. Sanger wanted to use abortion and sterilization to cull from the population a list of “undesirables” that mirrors the list the Nazis used to purify Germany. She wanted, for instance, to eliminate the mentally retarded and blacks from the gene pool of the country.Sanger was a disgusting, murder-supporting eugenicist that should be reviled.

Lastly is Betty Friedan, one of the founders of the women’s rights movement, wrote the famed book The Feminine Mystique in 1963, a book that sparked a massive movement for women’s rights. But ultimately Friedan proved to be merely a man hater, some charge a racist, but most certainly a major liar.

Some of the politicians on the list are problematic, of course, but Friedan, Carson, and Sanger belong only on a list of those who should be excoriated, not celebrated.

BREAKING: Republican Congressman Aaron Schock Just Resigned Over Illegal Spending

-By Warner Todd Huston

Illinois Congressman Aaron Schock just announced that he is resigning because of the mounting troubles over his illicit spending.

Schock was once thought of as an up-and-coming hero for establishment Republicans. But over the last month or so one story after another about his likely illegal spending of tax dollars and campaign cash on personal travel and vacations has finally sunk him. Now Politico reports he has resigned.

The 33-year-old Republican has been dogged by questions about his spending of taxpayer and campaign dollars. On Monday afternoon, POLITICO posed a lengthy set of questions about charging the government and his campaign tens of thousands of dollars in questionable mileage reimbursements.

Today, I am announcing my resignation as a Member of the United States House of Representatives effective March 31,” Schock said in a statement. “I do this with a heavy heart. Serving the people of the 18th District is the highest and greatest honor I have had in my life. I thank them for their faith in electing me and letting me represent their interests in Washington. I have given them my all over the last six years. I have traveled to all corners of the District to meet with the people I’ve been fortunate to be able to call my friends and neighbors.”

“But the constant questions over the last six weeks have proven a great distraction that has made it too difficult for me to serve the people of the 18th District with the high standards that they deserve and which I have set for myself. I have always sought to do what’s best for my constituents and I thank them for the opportunity to serve,” he said in a statement.

Of course, no Democrat would EVER have resigned over theft of taxpayer’s money, but…. there you have it.

Peter Dombrowski Announces For District 211 Board of Education (Schaumburg)

Peter Dombrowski, a Schaumburg resident, announced his candidacy for School District 211 Board of Education. As the largest high school district in the state of Illinois, serving on the Board at District 211 comes with great responsibility and Peter, a non-incumbent, looks forward to talking with voters over the next seven weeks.

Here is his open letter to voters:

Dear Neighbor,

As a resident of Schaumburg and fellow taxpayer, I’m concerned with the strategic direction of our High School District 211 Board of Education. Some specific issues we all face with the current Board in charge:

Tax Levy. The pension portion of my tax bill is up 106.4% since 2004. My tax bill supporting District 211, just since 2011, has increased 22.2%.

Excessive Fund Balance. Our Board has hoarded more money than is fiscally responsible, rationalizing this through fears of unrealized state actions. We have a policy and we need to hold our elected officials to that policy.

Board of Education Governance. The Board currently is reactionary. Our Board currently lacks open dialogue and critical assessment of consent agenda items. Structured committees are needed to allow discussions for all stakeholders.

Very Low Voter Turnout. Less than 10% of us are voting. These elections have significant impact on our tax bill. Remind your family, friends, and neighbors. Working together, we can implement strategic goals that will not only continue educational excellence, but also relieve our burden and bring fiscal sanity through strategic planning. I look forward to serving as your elected leader to create the bridge needed between you and our District 211 Board.

BACKGROUND I grew up on the south side of Chicago, in the small blue collar Polish community of Hegewisch. I was raised by my grandparents from the age of four. I attended Purdue University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and hold a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Currently, I am employed as a chief bridge engineer.

VOLUNTEERING I serve as a Member of the School Advisory Board at St. Hubert’s School, as well as an Engineering Mentor for the Future City Teams at my children’s school. I also serve as a volunteer for the UIC Engineering Expo and NCEES committee and have participated in Chicago CanStruction for the past few years.

FAMILY I am married to Cindy (’92 Schaumburg HS) and live in Schaumburg with our three children, Jack, Ava, and Henry, along with our two dogs, Dash and Mattie. We are St. Hubert parishioners.

Bloomington Mayor Goes Off on Blogger: You Are ‘ABSOLUTE AND TOTAL PIECE OF GARBAGE!’

-By Warner Todd Huston

The Mayor of Bloomington, Illinois seems to have lost his mind after a local Tea Party blogger mentioned his son in one of her posts. The Mayor launched into an unnecessary, hyperbolic attack on the blogger calling her “total garbage,” and a “sick dirty slimy ignorant fool.” His spittle-specked attack was replete with a lack of proper punctuation, misspellings, and often in all caps. It was like he reverted to a 12-year-old mentality with his over the top reply.

Mayor Tari Renner (yes, “Tari” is a man’s name in this case) went ballistic when blogger Diane Benjamin noted that the mayor’s son is a “friend” on social media of a student who appeared at a recent city council meeting.

The blogger didn’t “attack” Mayor Renner’s son, she merely mentioned him as a social media friend to a student who was involving herself in local politics.

But that mere mention brought this childishly formulated attack from the mayor:

NO! Diane! It shows what an ABSOLUTE AND TOTAL PIECE OF GARBAGE you are -actually worse because garbage can be converted into something useful – you are a TOTAL ABSOLUTE HUMAN CANCER! PLEASE quote me on that! I haven’ checked this site in ages because it’s mostly crazy bullshit -to be charitable! But, WHEN YOU ATTACK MY SON YOU ARE GOING TO PAY THE PRICE YOU SICK DIRTY SLIMY IGNORANT FOOL! And, frankly, that’s raising you to a level you ABSOLUTELY don’t deserve!

Nothing you ever report on this site makes any sense because I will give people anything they want to know about their government. Diane you REALLY are the craziest human being I”ve ever known. This WILL be my last post on this sick site of the worst part of humanity! The fact that some of you still think you’re Christians is PATHETIC! There is a special place in hell for you!

Krikies, Mayor Renner. What are you, like a 12-year-old child?

Ian Bayne of radio station Cities 92.9 in Bloomington reports that even members of the City Council–who are used to Renner screaming and attacking people–felt this reply was absurd and childish.

Apparently Mayor Renner has a long, long history of this sort of verbal attack on people who dares cross his royal highness.

In any case, someone needs to up Mayor Renner’s distemper shots, apparently. Seems like a childish and petty man that Bloomington elected to office, doesn’t it?

On February 20 the Bloomington City Council voted 9-0 to censure Mayor Renner for his outrageous behavior (source).

More Troubles for Rep. Aaron Schock: Aide Resigns After ‘Racist’ Posting

-By Warner Todd Huston

Illinois Congressman Aaron Schock has not had a good week. First he was criticized over his office decor, and today he has had an aide resign over a “racist” posting on social media.

Schock was criticized for ethics violations after initially having his office decorated for free in a garish pseudo-Downton Abby style.

Before that controversy even died down, though, he’s found a troublesome aide that needed firing over some sort of racist remark on social media.

Benjamin Cole, an aide who has been with the Congressman only since last March, has resigned, the DeKalb Daily Chronicle said on Thursday.

In a statement the Congressman said that he is “extremely disappointed by the inexcusable and offensive online comments made by a member of my staff.”

Schock’s office said that the aide offered to resign after being confronted about the posting.

Timing seems odd on this sudden dismissal, though. It was Cole who is reported as having embarrassed the Congressman earlier this week when he tried to pressure a reporter from the Washington Post to erase photos of the Congressman’s newly decorated office.

Now all of a sudden he is gone of a “racist post” on social media.

Illinois Review has more on the supposedly racist posts.

Rep. Aaron Schock Criticized for Downton Abbey-Themed Office Remodeling

-By Warner Todd Huston

Ill. Rep. Schock Defends ‘Downton Abbey’ Office Decor: ‘Haters Are Gonna Hate’

Congressman Schock On ‘Downton Abbey’ Office Renovation: ‘Haters Are Gonna Hate’

Congressman Aaron Schock (R, IL) is under fire for remodeling his office in a garish Downton Abbey-styled decor. But his taste in decor isn’t the only thing gaining criticism. Ethics watchdogs have charged that he improperly accepted free services from a decorator in the deal.

Recently, in response to the all the criticism, Schock said, “As Taylor Swift said, H’aters are gonna hate.'”

The story about the Congressman’s redecorating was first reported by the Washington Post’s Ben Terris who described the the decor as “Bright red walls. A gold-colored wall sconce with black candles. A Federal-style bull’s-eye mirror with an eagle perched on top.”

In that same report, though, Terris also revealed that Schock’s office tried to dissuade him from publishing the story.

As he toured the newly refurbished office in the Rayburn Building, Terris said that Schock’s staffers tried to make him delete his photos.

But that wasn’t the end of the bad publicity from the story. It was next reported that the decorator, Illinoisan Annie Brahler, didn’t intend to charge for her work as Schock’s designer and decorator. This, an ethics watchdog group said, was a violation of House rules.

In short order, Schock told ABC’s Jeff Zeleny that he fully intended to pay for the work and was only waiting for an invoice.

Illinois’ House Reps Have More Wealth Than Average Member of Their Electorate

(Here is my very first piece over at The Watchdog….)

-By Warner Todd Huston

A recent survey of the wealth of members of Congress revealed that, on average, it would take the combined wealth of 18 American households to equal the wealth of a single member of Congress. While this is an averaged statistic and individual cases vary, a review of the wealth of members of the Illinois delegation to Washington proves the rule rather than the exception.

The January report by found that, “The median net worth of a member of Congress was $1,029,505 in 2013… compared with an average American household’s median net worth of $56,355.”

It is apropos to review what members of Congress are paid as they serve in Washington. Members of the House of Representatives are paid $174,000 a year, a salary that has been frozen in place since 2009. Speakers of the House and majority and minority leaders make a bit more than the average Congressman to befit their higher positions. Members of the House cannot collect a pension until they have served for five years, meaning they’d have to win election three times. Their pensions are never higher than 80 percent of their highest salary and is paid out at retirement age–unless they are still working somewhere in the federal government. In that case, they can’t collect a pension until they are no longer earning a federal salary.

So, what about Illinois? Well, the congressional salary itself certainly puts our representatives in a higher tax bracket than the average citizen of their state. According to information released by the U.S. Census, the median household income of the 13 million some citizens in Illinois is $56,777 annually. That is about 7 percent higher than the national average…

Governor Rauner Should Appoint Adam Andrzejewski as His State Comptroller

-By Warner Todd Huston

Adam Andrzejewski has thrown his hat in the ring to become the new Illinois Governor’s pick to replace deceased State Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka and I think there isn’t a better, more qualified candidate than Adam.

Patriots In Action recently sent out a letter to supporters urging them to contact Rauner’s transition team to have the incoming governor consider Adam Andrzejewski (And-gee-efski) for the position.

Here is what she sent out…

You may be aware that Adam Andrzejewski has made application for the appointment to the open Illinois Comptroller position.

I realize it is a very busy time of the year, but time is of the essence.

If you would be so kind, to let Governor Elect Bruce Rauner know your thoughts and recommendation.

For quick background, Mike Flynn- a Quincy, IL native and editor at Breibart wrote a great column last week about this.

Please take a few minutes and write an e-mail recommending Adam to this most important financial office in Illinois.

It’s important to unite our party: establishment and reform.

Bruce Rauner has much establishment, corporate, and political support.
Rauner also ran on a platform of reform.

Andrzejewski’s track record consists of bold oversight on local, state and federal spending, nationally leading transparency work and has the support of the statewide grassroots-Conservative base.

Together, they could truly “Shake Up Springfield!”

Please type up a short letter in support and e-mail to the two e-mails listed below. ; Holly is Gov. Elect Bruce Rauner’s personal executive

( Jim Schultz – Founder of Open Prairie and Managing Director of Open Prairie Ventures I and II, was the Campaign’s Finance Chairman and is now leading as a key member of the Bruce Rauner Transition team.

This is our moment as Conservatives to join together and get a man who 5 years ago made a commitment to putting “every dime on-line in real time”. Let’s see that we have a line-by-line Forensic Audit done to help turn our state around.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart…
